US-based Universal Protective Packaging (UPPI) and Belgium-based ANL Plastics have completed an agreement for the production, sales and marketing of custom, thermoformed HDPE fragility packaging solutions.

As per the agreement, ANL Plastics licenses Universal Protective Packaging to manufacture and sell the patented Geospring and U-Pad & Lid thermoformed fragility packaging solution in North America.

UPPI sales and engineering VP Tim Ritter said they offer an industry accepted, approved fragility packaging solution to its customers who wish to reduce both packaging process costs and environmental impact through an engineered, post-consumer recycled material packaging solution.

"Not only will disk drive manufacturers realize the cost saving benefits of the thermoformed fragility packaging, it broadens our product offerings to our medical device and diagnostic equipment customer base as well," Ritter said.

The cost-saving packaging solutions are produced from recycled, reprocessed and thermoformed HDPE material.

Universal Protective Packaging is an industry provider of thermoformed protective packaging.

ANL Plastics, a $100 m company, develops and manufactures thermoformed plastic packaging for the European marketplace.
